Club 707 Our history
In 2003, Gary Plumley from South Wales began a project with a South American mission training school, known as 'Semear'. in Foz do Iguacu Brazil. The project was called 'NEXO', which means "connection" in Portuguese; NEXO began as a link between Brazil and South Wales; it allows students from 'Semear' mission school to stay and learn as part of a Welsh community for one-year. In this time, they would get involved organising youth events, taking part in church services and visiting the local community's schools and youth clubs. Then in 2005 Club 707 began in Abertridwr, founded by Gary Plumley, (Wales), Jonathan Quadrado (Argentina) and Rafael De Souza, (Brazil), It started as a monthly youth event aiming for young people to find our more about Christianity in a very creative and fun way...

Why Club 707?...
There are actually two reasons for the name, first of all more like in a fun way the club was set to start at 7:07 o'clock; as when we said 7 o'clock some people would normally be late or perhaps even forget to come along, whereas a time of 7:07 would stick in your mind and believe me they were on time :)...But yes, there is also a deeper meaning behind the name: it comes from Matthew 18:22, where Peter asks Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother: "up to 7 times?", Peter asked. Jesus replied, "... not 7 times but seventy-seven times." as for us Christians, forgiveness is at the heart of following Jesus.

Club 707 in Cowbridge
The Club 707 idea also had its impart in Cowbridge for about 2 years when Rafael De Souza was there as volunteer youth worker at the 'Holy Cross' Anglican Church and once again having the opportunity to share the 'Good News' of Jesus to many young people.
